Director Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan may have failed to create magic at the box office. After having a low first week, the romantic drama crashed in its second weekend as Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu dominated the ticket windows. But, the buzz about the film’s canvas and the complex human emotions that the director has managed to bring out has opened doors in more ways than one. The disappointing business of the film is infact a shocker for many people in the industry as the trailer and the songs were so well received among movie buffs. Despite failing to strike the chord with the audience, the audience have applauded the performance of its lead cast – Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu.

Along with the performance of the lead cast, there is something else that stand’s apart and works in favour of Manmarziyaan in the league of films that try to do justice to love. Along with the heart-tugging compositions by Amit Trivedi, the dancing twins behind Tapsee have our hearts stolen. The twins made their presence well felt along with the volatility of the characters. According to a source close to the makers, the idea behind using the twins, Poonam and Priyanka is almost poetic and metaphorical as they play the part of motifs who reflect the two-mindedness that plagues Taapsee’s character, Rumi.

For those who don’t know it yet, the girls are US-based dancerpreneurs who already have a good social media following. The director, Anurag Kashyap, even said that he found the twins on the internet and that they’re capable of creating magic. And his words were proved true in Manmarziyaan.
