Stand-up comedian and writer, Varun Grover, best known for writing the critically-acclaimed 2015 film Masaan and India’s first original web series – Sacred Games, was recently accused of Sexual Harassment in India’s #MeToo movement.
A Twitter user shared an anonymous allegation which expresses that the occurrence happened when Varun Grover was an understudy at BHU. After the tweet became viral on the internet, Varun took to Twitter to deny the said charges and in a point by point articulation. He wrote, “Really unfortunate that these completely fabricated and defamatory allegations have been made on me. NONE of the sequence of events as described in that anonymous screenshot happened ever and I deny all of it with all the conviction I have in my bones.”

Several big names in the industry, such as Anurag Kashyap and Sona Mohapatra also vouched for Varun Grover and refused to believe in the allegations about him.

In his latest tweet, Varun Grover said that the person making the allegations on him should be verified and also asked about an inquiry panel to let him present his case.
