Lipstick Under My Burkha is one of the most eccentric and one of a kind movie’s made in India up to date.  The movie faced so many hurdles along the way but finally got its release. And if you still haven’t watched it, then what are you really doing with your life? The amazing cast which includes Ratna Pathak, Konkana Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthankur is just the cherry on the top for the outstanding plot and message.

We are forever putting up status updates and reviews on social media regarding the concern we have for our society. When it come women empowerment and equality, we always have something ready but when a women dos something provocative, we are the first ones to go out there to slut shame or troll her.

Although there were so many people against Pahlaj Nihalani for deleting scenes and banning this film earlier, there was a journalist who begged to differ. A Mumbai journalist was watching the controversial film in the posh locality of Lower Parel and was looking forward to a decent crowd. But she was shocked to notice how people who wore the most expensive clothes, classy diamonds and took the recliner seats, had the trashiest comments about the film. She took it to twitter, not to review the film but the audience that were present in the theater:

And this how far we have really come people. The film talks about many concerns which take place in a woman’s life everyday and this reaction from an urban place is just shocking.
