Bollywood hasn’t produced many great films in the first half of this year. Except for a few movies most of them were disappointing. Will anything change in the remaining second half of the year. We certainly hope so. Let’s look at some of the promising sounding upcoming Bollywood movies in 2017.

5. Secret Superstar

Secret Superstar focuses on a schoolgirl who defies her conservative family to follow a career in music. Khan who plays a sleazy music producer in the film says that he is the second lead to Zaira Wasim in the movie.

4. Golmaal Againsource

Produced in collaboration with Rohit Shetty Films and Manglmurti Films, Golmaal Againfeatures Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Tabu in pivotal roles. In an earlier interview, Shetty had hinted at the possibility of another installment in the future. One gets the feeling that Golmaal Again will be a blockbuster unless Rohit Shetty, the writer, comes out with a weak story.

3. Fukrey returns

Four years later, the team is back with Fukrey Returns. Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Zafar (Ali Fazal) and Lali (Manjot Singh) are back, along with deadly Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha).

While the first one revolves around Choocha’s dreams, the sequel has him see future. And Choocha has a term for it – ‘deja chu’.

2. Ittefaq

source

The film’s first look explains that the story will be told through two points of view, something that we also saw in Meghna Gulzar’s 2015 film, Talvar. Injured Sidharth Malhotra landing up at Sonakshi’s doorstep to ask for help. She lets him inside the house but that mistake changes the course of the night. Sonakshi and Sidharth play suspects in a double murder case and through interrogations with the police, they are both trying to prove their innocence.

Akshaye Khanna is playing a cop in the film and it probably is just a coincidence that his last appearance, Mom (starring Sridevi) also had him don a similar role. This is the first time these all three actors will be seen in a film.

1. Padmavati

source

The film is a fictionised account of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat. According to Padmavat, she was the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler of Mewar.
