Amidst the burning debates of nepotism, the trailer of Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’ got released on YouTube on 12th August, 2020. Sadak 2 trailer has become the most disliked trailer after receiving over 4.2 million dislikes on YouTube within 24 hours of its release. The film is a sequel of ‘Sadak’ starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In the sequel, Bhatt has roped in both his daughters – Pooja and Alia Bhatt, along with Aditya Roy Kapur, and Dutt in an important role.

The trailer of ‘Sadak 2’ has been facing criticism ever since it is released. There was nevertheless an unexpected increasing trend after actor Sushant Singh Rajput ‘s tragic and untimely demise. His death had given rise to several discussion about nepotism and the entire insider vs. outsider argument .

From prime-time television to Twitter feeds, fans filled every space that they thought their idol was criticized due to these ‘nepo kids.’ They have even called for a boycott of Hotstar’s OTT platform as soon as the movie was announced to release there. And while the blame game and criticism was on, after their trailer released it took a worse turn for Alia Bhatt and the entire ‘Sadak 2’ team.

According to the sources, the trailer at 3.5 million and more views had 1.9 million dislikes by 5.30 pm in the evening. Now, with 57 million views and counting, coupled with 11 million down-votes, the trailer has become the ‘most disliked trailer’ on YouTube. Moreover, netizens have been in the race of making memes which are trending overall. Scroll!

Earlier, amid severe backlash, director Mahesh Bhatt had shared his views about the film through daughter Pooja Bhatt, and had said, “Today as we begin the last leg of our journey I feel unshackled! I carry no burden, no weight. No reputation to hold on to. No mission to accomplish. Nothing to prove to anyone. If the film works it belongs to all of you. If it does not, it’s mine.”

Amidst all these backlashes and boycott the movie charade, Pooja Bhatt took up her twitter account to wish her well wishers. When asked about how the harsh reactions that are coming on the way of the movie are affecting her or even it is affecting or not she wrote, “Am absolutely not! Lovers/Haters two sides of the same coin. Gotta hand it to both for giving us their valuable time and making sure we are trending. Thank you for your wishes!”
