We know women and men are not treated equally in this world. And whoever says they are, is either fooling people at large, or kidding themselves. Be it the judgement pelted out to women when they want to live their lives on their terms, or the restrictions and unwarranted persecution inflicted on them when ‘society’ and the moral police thinks a woman is out of line: rules and consequences for all sorts of actions stand very different for men and women.
And the saddest part is, the perpetrators of patriarchy – both men and women – seem to be in cahoots with each other when it comes to keeping the lack of equity alive.
So when popular dating app, TrulyMadly, in collaboration with All India Bakchod, decided to come out with this quirky video called Tu Chahe, performed by ‘The Watchboyz Feat Kamla Bai’, we felt like thanking them, and blowing confetti in the air for the message that they are trying to spread.
