After Tanushree Dutta recently came forward with unstable affirmations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar, there has been an enormous wave of support for her in Bollywood.
In a meeting with India Today TV, Tanushree asserted that Nana was “lurking” on the sets of Horn Ok Please for reasons unknown when she was shooting for a performance number. Evidently, he advised the choreographers to remain away and started teaching her the dance steps himself. Tanushree left the film after Nana purportedly constrained the creators to include an “intimate dance” with her.
On his part, Nana has denied the charges and said that there were no less than 50 individuals on the set so there was no question of acting up with Tanushree. His legal counselor, Rajendra Shirodkar, revealed to India Today that they will “start proper legitimate procedures including documenting a complaint for criticism.”
She also accused director Vivek Agnihotri of bad conduct during the shooting of ‘Chocolate’. Tanushree alleged that the director asked her to take off her clothes and dance to give Irrfan Khan cues.
Let’s have a look at what twitter has to say about this.
For men, a big part of the #MeToo movement is listening to women tell their story. Supporting them with belief. #TanushreeDutta is telling hers. Be a good man, shut your mouth, and listen to it. There are many many more like it in our industry. And they deserve to be heard.

This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned. https://t.co/Ola3MNdmtS

I refuse to believe this horseshit. That man is the most simple, noble and respectful person anyone will ever see. A rare gem. Look elsewhere for gaining mileage and publicity #TanushreeDutta. How about some hard work instead of resorting to such cheap tactics?!? #Baseless

We all know there are hundreds and thousands of women who are too afraid to speak out against sexual assault and misconduct, lest they be called “unprofessional”. They will only speak up if we appreciate – even laud – the courage of #TanushreeDutta, and not look the other way.

Entire news media and feminist sisterhood wants Bollywood to speak up for #TanushreeDutta . Intense slamming going around against anyone who doesn’t speak up. When Hrithik Roshan accused Kangana Ranaut of stalking with proof of sick emails, this entire jamaat was silent #MeToo

It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn. To be alone, questioned. No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation. Her only fault was she didn’t back down-takes a special courage to be #TanushreeDutta.

Why didn’t she speak about it before?
a) She did.
b) Sexual harassment does not come with an expiration date.#TanushreeDutta

Tanushree spoke about this years ago as well, when no one listened. And we all know what happened to her career. Not a coincidence. Today there is social media. At least some form of support. And I’m glad she’s speaking up again. Brave, brave woman. #TanushreeDutta

A few actors and actrresses, for example, Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna, Farhan Akhtar, Renuka Shahane and Richa Chadha among others have turned out in help of Tanushree. Many like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have picked a diplomatic approach on the debate.
Salman Khan attended an event today and was questioned about Tanushree’s allegations. See what happened after my questions. #TanushreeDutta #NanaPatekar #SalmanKhan @rahulkanwal @sahiljoshii @PadmajaJoshi @kamleshsutar @gauravcsawant @swapniljourno @ashu3page @mausamii2u pic.twitter.com/tWRC0KHt6J
