Actor Rana Daggubati has supposedly replaced on-screen character Nana Patekar in Housefull 4 after the latter was blamed for sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta.

After Sajid Khan ventured down as the director of the film in the wake of #metoo charges, Nana Patekar, as well, quit the film. The veteran on-screen character was blamed for sexual misconduct by Tanushree Dutta on the sets of 2008 film Horn OK Pleassss, an incident from around 10 years ago.

Yet, now things appear to be getting back on track for the producers. Half a month after Nana quitting the project, the producers have found his substitution in Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati.

After giving a blockbuster with SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali series, in which he played the antagonist Bhallaldeva, Rana Daggubati is currently working on Krish’s NTR biopic in which he plays Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu

Rana, who was given a narration of the script a week ago, preferred the part and instantly gave his nod for the role.

The Baahubali actor addressed Mumbai Mirror saying, “It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid Nadiadwala and Farhad Samji is something I am really looking forward to.”

The film is being currently shot in Mumbai and Rana is expected to join the star cast soon. This morning Rana took to twitter showing his excitement to work in the film.

Featuring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde as leads, the comedy is presently being shot in Mumbai and Rana is expected to join the cast this week. Reportedly, the actor will play a ghazal singer in the film and the parts that Nana had shot for in Jaisalmer will now be filmed in the Maximum City.
