Bengaluru Namma Metro’s Pink Line has reached a major milestone, with the 7.5-km elevated stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere declared ready for opening. Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda inspected the section during a trial run on September 2. The state government is now hoping to receive an inauguration date from the Union government within September. However, passenger operations will begin only after the required rolling stock and safety approvals are completed. The development is expected to improve connectivity along Bannerghatta Road and support Bengaluru’s efforts to tackle heavy traffic congestion. When Will Pink Line Open? The Namma Metro Pink Line stretch is technically ready, but commuters will have to wait for the remaining statutory approvals before regular services can begin. BMRCL is awaiting approval for the new rolling stock from the Railway Board, after which the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety is expected to inspect the corridor and provide the mandatory safety clearance.
