The mega auction was held this year and the shuffling of the players was unreal and unexpected. This year’s auction saw the top 3 costliest players all being Indians starting with Ishan Kishan on the top for Mumbai Indians followed by Deepak Chahar for CSK and Shreyas Iyer for KKR. In addition, players who have become synonymous with some teams will be seen playing for the opposite sides. We will see David Warner in Delhi Capitals while K L Rahul will lead the Lucknow Giants and Faf du Plessis will not be wearing yellow anymore as he will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore this time.

  • New rules and fixtures :

Theis latest edition of IPL is divided the 10 teams in two groups of 5 each. The top two teams of each group will get the spots in the playoffs based on their points. In the earlier editions, the 8 teams played each other for a total of 65 matches including the final match while in this season; a total of 75 matches will be played thus increasing the excitement. Moreover, each team has to have at least 7 Indian players in their playing 11 at all times. The addition of another DRS now adds on another advantage to the teams making it two in a single inning.

  • Young emerging uncapped Indians :

The uncapped players are set out to showcase their achievements and to get the better of the retained players in the teams. These include Yash Dhull, India’s under 19 captain who won the world cup this time who was drafted by Delhi Capitals, Rahul Tripathi who was drafted by Sun Risers Hyderabad this time, Rajvardhan Hangargekar drafted by CSK and so on. These new emerging talents will surely be at the center of the storm known as IPL 2022.
