Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter play a much-in-love couple in Dhadak trailer who decide to elope in the face of class distinction and power games.
While we will have to wait till Dhadak releases for that, Dhadak trailer that came out Monday is definitely a step in the right direction. The class distinction is obvious, as is the power that politics vests in you.
Produced by Karan Johar, Dhadak marks the Bollywood debut of Ishaan who was earlier seen in Iranian auteur Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds. This is Janhvi’s first film.

A few days ago, Janhvi Kapoor said in an interview to Vogue that her mother Sridevi, who died in Dubai this February, watched the rushes of Dhadak. “She was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve — she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me… ‘You can’t wear anything on your face.’ That’s all she told me, but she was happy,” Janhvi said.
